JasperReports Plugin - which version should we use?

Printing is an important part of most solutions.

When looking at the Servoy JasperReports Plugin, I saw that the new 5.0.0 version is still in alpha, see

I therefore would like to ask if any developers are already using that version successfully in a productive environment, or if we should stick to the 4.0.2-final-version for production.

What also interests me is which combination of Jasper tool (Studio or iReport) and Servoy Plugin works best currently from your experience.

Same problem here and I tested all newer stable and beta plugins with Servoy 8.0.1 and they are not working. The only working JasperReports Plugin for me is 5.0.0a2.
Normally I only use stable releases or a good beta but it’s not possible…

Yes, looks like one should use JasperReports Studio plus plugin-v4 (although Michael has best experience with 5.0.0a2).

‘Beste experience’ is not equal to ‘no problems’
Generally, I’d say never deploy anything else than ‘final’ state code (I don’t consider alpha releases to be just that)

Are you working on Servoy 8.0.1 Marc?
The v4 plugins are not working for me with this Servoy version. The reports are not fired and there are no error messages. I already opened a case and the solution is v5 alpha.

Nope, but Bernd also doesn’t do this.
I agree it should be solved, but I can’t think of a reason why the stable version doesn’t work.
