Limitations to Mail-Plugin?

We are planning to setup a mass-mailing-solution with servoy.
Does anybody know of limitations in performance and/or stability of the mail-plugin?

If anybody did such a solution that would be interessting too.

Thanks Oliver

If you have figured out some downsides of the plugin, you can have a look at our MailPro-Plugin. It allows you to control almost any aspect of sending and receiving mails. Especially in the area of mass mailings, it might be interesting to be able to send several messages per session or add your own headers for example.

I know Harjo of Direct ICT does things with (mass) email. And also makes use of the MailPro-Plugin btw.

yes indeed, we use the mailPro plugin mostly for the IMAP function.

Another customer is still sending 30,000 emails every month, with the the mail-plugin of Servoy, very stable, and fast enough! ;-)
And I agree with Patrick, the mailPro plugin, could do this faster, because there you have to possibilty to send more than one email, in every SMTP session.

Thank you guys (you really seems addictive to servoy-stuff).
I will give the mailpro-plugin a try. Is it already 4.1 compatible and are there different versions for servoy 3.5 and servoy 4.1?
Do you have a test-solution? The solution from direct ict seems very complete, do you offer the mail-part as a stand-alone version?

We use mailpro-plugin in a quite large solution and it works perfectly in Servoy 3.5.7 and Servoy 4.x, no need to install different versions.
If I’m correct the downloadable version include also a sample solution but I guess you won’t need it cause the plugin is very very simple to use and every method comes with sample code.
In my opinion it’s the best choice especially if you need to send a large number of emails thanks to the fact that you have full control over the SMTP session.
