MacOs Tahoe and Servoy

Have anyone upgraded to MacOs Tahoe? Any Servoy developer issues to be aware of?

No issues so far (since a good week). Tested with 2025.03 and 2025.09 RC

I tested with 2025.3.2 today on my intel macbook, works as expected (old installation, out of date db, wrong sequences ruin the day, but that’s on me), everything on the Servoy / Eclipse Side is ok.
I can think about updating my main machine.
And I found a theme manager on eclipse which makes the dark mode more readable for me, so yay. (Eclipse Themes | Eclipse Plugins, Bundles and Products - Eclipse Marketplace | Eclipse Foundation)

I also need to be able to run 2023.03… but it sounds encouraging…

I’m lacking a solution that I could run, installation is not a big problem, I have the versions laying around.
If you want me to test a scenario you could give me a link.

I don’t have anything easily shareable.
Loading a Servoy demo solution will give a good idea…
Try to move some stuff around in the form designer …

Try to run. I expect it all to work.

Ok, that all seems to work, I can edit forms, solution opens, I fail al login since i modified data (i assume…), but what I’ve seen no serious “hard fails”.

Talking about Versions and Tahoe, there’s a slowdown with Electron apps that seems to occur on a system-level (see fix: MacOS 26 Tahoe - stop overriding private cornerMask API to fix WindowServer GPU load by avarayr · Pull Request #48376 · electron/electron · GitHub), and according to the script from here GitHub - tkafka/detect-electron-apps-on-mac: Detect Electron apps on mac where the Electron hasn't yet been updated to fix the system wide lag the Servoy ngDesktop is affected.
Is there a roadmap for updating the client to the newest electron version?

Just to complete this, I upgraded a couple of weeks ago and I’m now on the new 26.1. No problems at all. Everything is working as expected in Servoy 2023.03…

Answering my own question on the ngDesktop client, Servoy 2025.9 create a client that is updated and should run without problems on macOS 26.

Recently I updated to 26.1 on a macBook Pro with M1 using Servoy 2024.3 LTS. No problems found so far. I exported a solution and did compare current and former war file: no diff.

Regards, Birgit

Just upgraded to Tahoe 26.1 all fine except when you highlight multiple lines in the editor it only highlights to the left of the current line using the Tahoe default highlight colour. if i highlight multiple lines in say the command console that works fine, although the highlight colour isn’t the default. Have tried swapping color themes, but the problem persists. Does anyone know where in the settings i can change the highlight color for the editor?

Thanks

Richard

That seems to be a thing in eclipse with 26.1, see here Cannot select multiple lines of text in Eclipse 2025-09 on macOS Tahoe 26.1 · Issue #2244 · eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform · GitHub or here [macOS 26.1] Multiline selection highlighing is visually broken · Issue #2621 · eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.swt · GitHub
I don’t know if adding the repo for eclipse-updates breaks the Servoy part, though.

Thanks Robert, will install Servoy on another machine and see if it breaks Servoy. Most likely next week before i can get to that, will report back when i do.

That text selection problem will be solved with 2025.12 (and the eclipse update that it brings along).

That’s great to hear Patrick, but what if we aren’t ready to upgrade our clients to that version yet, is there no way we can get a retro-fix for 2025.6 or 2025.9??

Multiline text selection works, it is only the highlight colour that does not show…

which can be confusing….

It’s an eclipse issue. I don’t think we can easily backwards fix this. And as Christian said, it does work, you just don’t see what you selected

Ok, thanks.

(I know the selection is working, I have been using it ‘blind’ )
