Navigation and delete keys stop working

I have a weird problem where after a while, my arrow and backspace keys stop working. Forward delete, and using the mouse to place my cursor solves the problem, but it is very frustrating because obviously I’m used to using the keys to move around.

The problem does not affect any other running apps, and does not go away if I quit and restart Servoy. It does go if I restart the computer, however having to do that two or three times a day is also aggravating.

Machine is an 8 core Mac Pro, running 10.6.4. Java is 1.6.0_17, Servoy is 5.2 with Sybase 11

I have noticed a few “A handler conflict occurred. This may disable some commands.” and “Conflict for ‘AUTOGEN:::org.eclipse.ui.cheatsheets.actionSet/org.eclipse.ui.cheatsheets.actions.CheatSheetHelpMenuAction’:HandlerActivation” errors, but the keys don’t stop working immediately after that

Anybody know what this problem is or how to solve it?

Thanks
Bevil

we talk here about the smart client? or developer?
that conflict has nothing to do with it thats eclipse reporting something.

Hi Johan

It is in eclipse, in the text editor. I have not tried those keys on a form editor, but text stops working, and only those keys I think (up, down, left, right, backspace)

Bevil

that is very very weird…

That sounds like a problem deep down into the native SWT mac bindings…

I don’t like very weird problems…

Has anyone else seen this?

I have established that it DOES NOT misbehave in a form editor. I can even use the Arrow keys / backspace in text on a form editor. It is only the text editor that disables some keys.

Also, when it stops working, I can no longer Cmd Shift A to open form editor on a form.
