Object Property Visible Not Working in Web Client

I have a button on a form. The form’s onLoad event triggers a method that hides the button as follows:

elements.btn_buttonName.visible = false

When viewing the form in Smart Client, the button does not show. However, veiwing the form in Web Client shows the button.

This seems too simple to not work. Am I missing somehting?

If you have a sample that does not work ok you can open a case in the support system.
