Old Certificate

Hi All

I am attempting to add a new computer (Mac Book Pro) to an existing server (5.2.12) with a Sybase backend. When I try to open a client on the new machine it says I have an outdated certificate. What is the procedure for obtaining an up to date certificate?

Hi Tom,
If you’re referring to a Servoy-jar-license,
You have to download again the Servoy installer to get an installation with updated certificate.
If you’ve already do that and the problem persist, you have to warn Servoy about that and to wait for
an updated installation with the right certificate. Could you specify better the message you get from the new client?

I updated Servoy to 5.2.16 and tried to start a client. The first alert is:

After selecting run the client appears to start and then this message appears:

[attachment=0]Second Message.png[/attachment]

Selecting OK the client quits.

This help is much appreciated.

This first message is expected. See this post for help with jar signing: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20042

The second message could be solved by making a change to the Java settings on the client computer. On the client computer, check the following:

  1. You are running the most up-to-date version of Java.
  2. There is only 1 version of Java installed (most likely the case for a Mac, but not always the case for Windows).
  3. Your rmi port is not blocked by a firewall (1099 by default).
  4. In some cases, setting Java’s proxy setting to ‘Direct Connection’ fixes this. The setting can be changed in the Java control panel (found in the Utilities folder on a Mac). On the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Network Settings’ button.
  5. Clear your Java cache also. In the Java control panel on the ‘General’ tab in the ‘Temporary Internet Files’ section, click the ‘Settings’ button then click the ‘Delete Files’ button. Be sure to check all check boxes.

Thank you for your response

After applying the changes you suggested, Firefox now returns the following error message:

Maybe I am missing something. Any other suggestions?
