PostgreSQL case insensitive operator

Since in 2.2 there’s no chance to detect which db are you running, I’d like to know if there’s a workaround to make a case-insensitive query work on both Sybase and Postgres (since tha latter doesn’t seem to accept the # operator, and the iLIKE clause is not SQL standard).

Any idea?

Ciao Ric,

I have a table of tables  where I indicate what database they are in so I can take care of these small differences… This table is also used to build my menus…

Yeah, sure: I forgot we talked about it… ;-)

Nice tip, Christian. Thanks. :-)
