I am trying to print a tabless tab panel and am getting a grey background. This does not show in preview or browse mode. Is it possible to set the colour of this item to transparent, and if so how?

Hi Gordon,
Select the tabpanel control (not the tabs) in designer mode.
Then you can check the Transparent checkbox in the properties panel.

Thanks for the tip, this works on screen, however when its printed I am getting the same grey box !!! I dont know if its a platform specific result as I am on a Mac (10.4/j1.5 etc)
Just to confirm I have selected the tab panel (not the tab item) and selected transparent. This has made the on-screen panel clear, but still prints out very light grey!!
