I can’t edit a Value List under RC8, OS X 10.3.2, and Java 1.4.2_03. I click ‘Edit’ from the ‘Value Lists’ window and get the attached window which is un-resizable under all looks and feels I’ve tried.
A complete show-stopper.
(Also, the Kunstoff look and feel doesn’t work for me any longer under RC8 – I just get a blank window and no menus.)
Does anyone know if there is a non-Apple PowerPC JVM that can run instead of Apple’s?
Ok, I’ve now upgraded a G4 desktop with 10.3.2 to RC8 as well and do not have the problem with the Value Lists window being as the screenshot shows in my original post – they operate as expected.
I’ll see what else I can find out about this (the problem computer is an iBook).
Kunstoff look and feel is now/still completely blank and was working ok under RC7 on both computers, however.
are you using kunstoff lnf under the mac?
As far as i know other lnf under the mac never works quite nice..
I don’t know why suddenly there are problems and before never..
doe you have some exception in youre .log.txt file (its a hidden file on the mac)
Thanks for your notes, Johan. Yes, Kunstoff is on the Mac. I’ve looked and can’t locate the .log.txt file (I even searched the whole drive from the shell for log .) However, I can live without Kunstoff and use a new LNF.
As promised, I looked into the Edit Value Lists window showing up very small and being un-resizable, and did a brand new fresh install of RC2 Beta 6 and tested without adding any RC updates. It turns out I have the issue there as well – exactly as described in my first message above, no way to edit value lists at all. (Including those in the demo CRM solutions, etc.)
As I mentioned above, OS 10.3.2 on an iBook w/ Java 1.4.2-34 – is there anything I can send to help you troubleshoot the Value List window item? (I don’t have the problem on a Desktop G4 with the same OS and Java versions.)
I’ve upgraded to RC9, and also done a (second) complete reinstall of Beta 6, and the small value-list window problem persists in both cases – though I may be the only one seeing this . (Screenshot of the window above.)
I’m running Java 1.4.2 and after clicking ‘New’ or ‘Edit’ in the Value Lists window and getting the small window, there are no errors thrown in the console log or the .log.text file.
Short of reinstalling OSX, any ideas on what else I can do here? (I’m running an iBook G4 800MHz, 10.3.2, 640MB Ram.)
you should never change the servoy.properties file when the developer is running.
That won’t have any effect on the current running developer. And youre changed values will be overwritten when the developer is closed.

Yes, exactly as one would expect. I wasn’t clear – I quit Developer before making the changes. This key/value is written back as described: rect_DefineValueListsDialog_bounds=302,167,410,381
