We are looking for a bean or plugin that can convert rtf-files (with tables, images, etc..) to pdf-files
Are there allready made beans or plugins out there?
We have some budget for this.

What is the compelling argument to make it a part of a database solution ? Is it because there is a document-management process which is facilitated by your solution ?

Because we use rtf documents,(made in Word with images, tables etc.) to make the personalized, with tags like this %%companyname%% and %%address%% etc..
We do a replaceTag with the current record and we have a new personalized document. This works fantastic, but… because it is not based on a form, we can’t use the Servoy pdf-plugin to make it PDF.
That’s why we are searching for a rtf-to-pdf bean of plugin.

The plugin is not build yet. It is in consideration.

Ah, that’s funny. I have been investigating the exact same thing this week to build a plugin this week.
It won’t be too easy though. As we all know the standard rft support of Java is not too brilliant to say the least. Images and textboxes are not supported (ignored) and tabs can not be set. That is the minimum you need to do this!
If the pricing is reasonable you can count me in (want to know this on forehand though) otherwise if somebody knows of a library…
