Hi all,
is there a list of things (a sort of best practices) to follow in order to make Servoy run at his best?
After testing in my lan, I created a very simple MySQL table (containing 600 records), but the interaction between Servoy and those data is pretty slow (I use a 640 adsl to connect to the database).
Searching records is fast enough, but if I try to enter or modify informations, the system becomes quite unusable: if I change the name of a movie (yes, it’s a mini-imdb)
I have to wait 10/20 seconds before having the control again (10 seconds under Win XP, 15-20 seconds under Jaguar).
Any idea?
Hi Ricardo,
Are you still experiencing this?
Is there any other software connecting to the database that might cause locking/commiting problems?

Yes. Tested yesterday.

I don’t think so: it’s a private database and I’m the only user connected to it. I thought it could be a bandwidth problem, but people who’s hosting the database told me that they don’t have performance problems with MySQL.
If you could make some test of accessing MySQL over the internet, it would probably help. ![Wink ]()
Ciao, Riccardo
solution loading speed is improved in 1.2rc4. or is only your database behind a adsl line? as seen from servoy server? (the servoy server process needs fast connection with the database!, the server heavily interacts with the db and combines data before sending to clients)
