Our solution is an SaaS model serving small nonprofit organizations so many of our clients are on older computers. I have had a few people say that occasionally their system locks up.
Yesterday I observed a notebook PC running XP. The client accessed our server, put in username and password. It looked like it was starting up and then everything froze. Not just the solution but the computer. We had to power down the computer to free it up. When we tried accessing our solution a second time it worked perfectly.
Anyone have an idea of what might be causing this and any remedies? K
It happens with some faulty network drivers, try upgrading the network driver.
Thanks for the response Jan.
These folks are not on a network. Just an individual computer accessing our solution through Comcast or Roadrunner. Many of my clients are barely computer literate so I’m not sure how practical it would be to suggest they update their network drivers. It seems to be localized in computers at least four years old running on XP. The one I observed seemed quite lethargic and bogged down with system overhead. K
Is it a particular version of java they use?
I’ll check, may take a couple of day. K
