I am trying to learn how to use Servoy. I have the latest version installed on a current verion of Windows XP. Whenever I click the Smart Client Launch I get a fatal Internet Explorer Error. I don’t know where to start looking for the problem so any help greatly appreciated.

first you must understand, that the webclient does not have all the functions that you use in the smart-client.
Which solution do you have open?
try the crm-demo and hit the Launch Web client.
that solution is specially build for webclient.

Actually it sounds like calvin is having a problem launching the smart client via the java web start and instead of the JNPL launching the smart client, IE is bombing out.
Can’t say that I have seen that issue yet, but I don’t use windows so I have never tried launching via IE.
The web part works fine. I have the problem with Smart Client Launch no matter what app I try to open, even a simple one I created. Can anyone give me any idea on where to start looking to fix this problem?

What is the exact error you’re getting?
Perhaps I was not clear- I know almost nothing about Servoy. I have absolutely no idea where to look to solve this problem. What is the log and where do I look for it. Thanks.
The log should be in your Servoy root folder or in your console.
BTW when you know little or nothing, there are excellent docs to get you going!
Sounds more like an IE error to me? Do you allow java, javascript etc? Tried Firefox yet?
