I am getting errors with this thread…It seems the forums cannot handle e-accent grave and o-accent grave

But basically I want to do a search on names met letters with accents…but using normal letters. The bold letters mentioned are letters with an accent.

We want to search on Novek or Schroder.
It would be nice if people searched on Novak…and then find (also) Novak.
Or search on Schroder…and then find also (also) Schroder

Is there some kind of SQL statement I dont know of (besides LIKE ‘Nov_k%’ )

It depends on what backend database you are using, and what the character set is for the table (ie latin1, UTF-8, etc).

I have a question to the Servoy-boys. What repercursions are there in using another collation file instead of UTF 8
