When I was trying 3.5 on my server, I was able to start developer then access the active solutions from other computers. Now that I’ve installed 4.1, I can’t get around this error:
Starting of webstart clients not possible from developer (running an application server)
It doesn’t matter if I start the application server as a service or not, or if I am running developer or not, or if I try the web client or smart client. I am testing the community edition. It’s supposed to be fully functional, is there something I’m missing? I opened developer, “checkout” the sample_crm and it seems to be active, but I can’t access it from another computer.
Thanks Marcel It seems I remember that I had to have developer running in 3.5 to access the solutions. Didn’t make sense, but it seems to work the way I expect now, developer closed. app server running. I really don’t know what version of Java I had. I just had a button that said to check if I had the correct version of the java client, and I had to wait for the coffee cup, then everything worked.
I have the same error message, but only from one machine. If I connect from another machine, everything works fine. The problem occurs after a black out in the office. When I connect via Powerbook over a VPN connection I can start the Servoy Client without problem.
I checked the Java Versions and both are on Java SE 6 (64 bit) and on both machines I have not yet done the new OS X (10.6.3) “Java for Mac 10.6 Update 2”. Should I do that? Does it work? On another machine I did the Java update a little while ago, but now can’t connect to Servoy anymore, however, this installation or machine is messed up anyways, so I did not pay much attention to the Servoy problem there…
