Sybase 9 to 10

Hi all,

I have Servoy 3.5 running on Sybase DB server 9.
I want to move my database to Servoy 4, but got the error “Connection refused…”

How can I convert them?

Here’s a quick how-to:

  1. Check if you can upgrade licensewise. iAnywhere 10 is free if you are on subscription, if you’re not you cannot upgrade.
  2. If you are on a mac find a Windows PC. It can be done on a Mac too but takes so many extra steps I will skip them here.
  3. Install Sybase Central (free download from iAnywhere.com) if you do not have it yet for version 10 (not 9, not 11 !)
  4. There is an upgrade wizard in Central 10 that will step by step upgrade your database(s)
  5. Do a clean install of Servoy 4.1 and put your databases in the database folder, don’t forget to edit your sybase.config.
