Two solutions, two very different URLs, same server

I’d like to run two identical versions of 7Office on the same Xserve, one for production, the other for demo.

Those going to http://xxx.com:8080/ would run the production version, pointing to the seven_office.db. Those going to http://yyy.com:8080/ would go to the demo version pointing to seven_demo.db.

Is this possible? One machine, two solutions with very different URLs. Are there technical issues I should be aware of in such a setup? Are there licensing issues?

There are many many ways to achieve this. Here’s one:

Setup both URL’s under Apache with html pages. Give those pages your favourite design and let the JNLP link to the same server, include the solution name etc in it so it opens the corresponding solution directly.

Hi Servoy_Support & welcome to the list :)

For those of us who are only semi-literate on Apache Servers and JNLP could you flesh out your answer in more detail ??

Thanks in advance

I second that. More detail please.

In the server-manuall it is all well explained in detail, how to run multiple servers on one machine. Every port you have to change is described with screenshots!

so you can run multiple servoy-servers on one machine, with different portnumbers:

You also can use domain forwarding to 2 different solutions on the same servoy server:

so forward:
http://xxx.com to : http://com:8080/servoy-client/servoy-cl … ffice.jnlp
and
http://yyy.com to : http://com:8080/servoy-client/servoy-cl … edemo.jnlp

So there are many ways to do this.

Thanks Harjo - it’s the old RTFM syndrome - Marc Norman will never forgive me
