Upgrading existing installation and keep using Sybase

After installing Servoy 5.1 final on a test server (on Windows), I did an auto-update to 5.2 final which appeared to update successfully and keep everything running on the Sybase database engine, which is nice.

However, upon restart a dialog appeared stating: “The ApplicationServers version (956) is lower than the Developers version (997). Upgrade the ApplicationServer?”

When I click “Yes”, the solution freezes. When I click “No”, everthing appears okay, but every time I restart Developer the same dialog appears again. Clicking “Yes”, always puts Developer into a “Not Responding” state.

What to do?

Westy, how long did you waited?
I also found out, that sometimes this can take some time…

yes just wait, you jump quite some versions so it could be that it needs to download quite some stuff.
dont know how fast your line is, but just wait.

Okay. I am going to click “Yes” and go to lunch. :)

After I clicked “Yes”, I opened Task Manager and it said “Not Responding” so I assumed that it would not work. However, when I came back from lunch there was a dialog open saying that the update was successful!

Thank you,

In Servoy 6.0 that update will be in some eclipse job so will not get this “frozen application” feeling anymore.
