Vista Connection

Hello Everyone,

I am a bit rusty and am trying to configure a few things,

I have a workgroup evviroment set up at the office; On one XP machine I have servoy 3.1.8 set up running SQL 2000 for my data.

I have a Vista laptop running Servoy 3.1.8 as well (which I cannot install SQL 2000 on). I want to be able to connect the the repository using developer. I am sure there is a way to create a data connection to the SQL Data and manage the changes I need to that database.

I am eventualy going to get a server and set up things up as they should and purchase several licenses. I know I can export and import releases, but want to mange and develop from my desktop and keep servoy in production.

I know there are probably a million ways to do this, but I need to keep the repository and SQL on the XP machione and develop from my Laptop with the vista for now.

I appreciate any help in advance.

but want to mange and develop from my desktop and keep servoy in production

And this is potentially DANGEROUS!!!
Never develop on the same machine that you run your production on (see this forum alone for all that can happen when you do so).

When you use the ip address of the machine acting as server you should be set to go…

Hi Marcel,

I know its not the optimal set up, but due to my current situation I am going to have to go thisroute for a few months. Thank you for your help.
