Not sure if this a bug or an issue with my machine, I’m not even sure where to post it as there isn’t a forum for documentation / help
My problem is that in Servoy 3.0, I tried loading help (f1) and was told that documentation needed to be downloaded. I downloaded it and have now got a help menu with only the “Search” tab working. “Contents” is entirely blank (big grey rectangle) while “Index” says “type the first few letters of a word” and gives me a box to type into, but nothing happens no matter what I type. I deleted Servoy/docs/developer_manual/, restarted Servoy and tried to load help again and same problem.
Anyone else having only 1/3 of the Servoy help system?

I think everybody is in the same situation. This is a bug since 3.0 rc 4 or 5. And, in any case, the docs are those of version 2.2.4

Phew, not just me then…
First, the Servoy 3.0 Online documentation has been made available, so
when you go choose Help (F1) after installing Servoy 3.0, and you get
the Documentation Download dialog, it is the Servoy 3.0 Help Navigator
that will be downloaded.
Second, you are correct about the display bug. If you are on Mac OS X
and you download the Servoy 3.0 documentation, you should see the
proper displayed topics for the Content, Index, and Search tabs. It is only
when you download the Servoy 3.0 Online Help Navigator on Windows,
that you will see the display bug.
We appreciate your patience, and are working to resolve this bug as fast
as possible. Shortly, we will also be uploading the Servoy documentation
in PDF format for you to download in the meantime.
When the PDF documentation is available for download, we will post an
announcement on the Forum.
Once the display bug has been fixed, we will also post an announcement
about the availability of the documentation - including a complete list
of all the changes and enhancements.
I installed Servoy 3.0 and the docs downloaded after clicking on the help menu were those of version 2.2.4. I also removed the docs folder from the Servoy folder a couple of times in case the new docs were made available, but the version downloaded was still 2.2.4.
And, as far as the display bug is concerned, I use Mac and the display bug is present. I also posted a message here a few weeks ago.
Am I doing anything wrong? Is there any trick to get the correct online help for version 3.0?
at last I got the help docs for v 3.0. It took forever to receive them (everybody was downloading after readig this topic? Maybe I wasn’t the only one with docs version 2.2.4). But I assure you that I tried no more than a week ago to get them and what I got was v 2.2.4. Anyway, thanks.
However, I must confirm that the display bug is still there. I am using MacOS X 10.4.8 and after downloading the docs I can only read them in the Search panel. Nothing in the Contents or Index panels. I have been experiencing this bug since rc4 (I think) and I am rather surprised when you say that this is just a Windows problem. Maybe there are different behaviours in different MacOs versions?

To download the online help you should first remove it from the docs folder/directory in Servoy 3.0 folder/directory and then press f1 or choose help from the menu.
The problem is that this morning I tried to download it but I got (again) version 2.2.4. A few days ago I managed to download v. 3. I don’t know what happened.
On Mac OS X 10.4.8/Intel, the display bug mentioned does not show up. However, there is a small bug in the display of the hitlist on the Search panel – it seems that any entry receiving top ranking is listed twice.
Actually, I just noticed that the bottom-ranked “Methods: Database manager” item is listed twice also. However, whereas in the first two double-entries in the list both work to open the relevant page, the first of the two Methods: Database Manager link does nothing. Only by selecting the second link can the page be opened.
I also use MacOS X 10.4.8/Intel, but I definitely have the display bug: the contents and index panes are empty, and only the search pane works.
And in the search pane I have the same duplicate entries bug, with both top entries working, while only one of the bottom ones links to a page.
That’s very strange: it seems that I am the only one with the display bug in MacOS X.
