What version of java for installation?

Hello All!

I am currently running servoy 3.5 and looking forward to moving to servoy 6.1.

My problem is this:

I currently have java jdk 1.6.33 installed on the server

Clients are also using java 1.6.33 Clients cannot connect using jre 7.

If they upgrade their computer to java jre version 7, the pages will not display and show only errors regarding null objects, etc

The system requirements for servoy 6 state jdk-6 is preferred. I will still have the same problem of java on the end user.

Has anyone installed Servoy with jdk 7? If so, can you explain how you got it to work?

Thanks

I have, 64-bit. Um … I just installed it, and it worked.

Sorry, I think I was not clear in my question…

Does Java JDK 7 work well with Servoy, both developer and as a client using java version 7 connected to the server?

I have been using Java 7 for both server and client for about 6 months with little in the way of issues.
There might have to be some jars re-signed but maybe that is all.
Mind you this was for a 32 bit server and a 32 bit client. Not sure about other configurations.
Others chime in…
[Edit]: this has been using MS Win ver 7 and Ms Win Xp only experience!

Tom,

Thanks for the assurance that I can move to java 7. I am running Centos6 x64 and cannot get developer to open. Any suggestions? If I need to, I can move to Debian as I have seen posts commenting Ubuntu runs developer fine.

Please comment

This is a follow-up to a really old post of mine -

I never could get java jdk 7 to run developer (servoy 6) on my centos x64 server even though it runs server_server just fine.
So I ended up installing developer on a windows 7 pc with java jdk 7 installed.

I have no problems with servoy_server and java 7 on my centos x64 server
