It appears that v3.1.5 changed the way licenses are entered, when server & developer on on the same Windows box.
If I enter the developer license in developer, it over-writes the client license I’ve already entered thru the server web admin ( the client license disappears )
When I re-enter the client license thru Server admin, it will NOT allow entry of the developer license. It returns “bad code”
That’s the way it has always worked, you can only have a Client/Multi developer license OR a Developer license.
The only difference in the 3.1 branch is now that when you have a client/multi-dev license stored and you launch developer it changes the ‘license product’ from ‘client’ to ‘developer’ and will invalidate your license number. Switching it back to client/multi-dev fixes it again.
There is a problem with licenses if you start Servoy developer in a Servoy Server install directory. (try to keep different installs for server and developer, which is good practise anyway)
it still makes no sense, since the properties file does allow for an unlimited number/type of licenses (and actually works now)
you say it is “good practice”, but the documentation is not clear on this. Is there a “best practices” document, to explain this?
also, when I download & install, by default, everything is in one place, so it gives the impression that this is “ok”. Maybe “install” should be in two parts?
