We are starting a new series of webinars in which we will be covering a broad range of topics, from new features to new capabilities to best practices.
These webinar series are targeted to developers and we promise: no marketing fluff Just technology!
We have a couple of topics in mind and below is the first one but we would like to welcome you to bring topics to the table as well, or perhaps you even want to present one yourself! If you have any suggestions please post them below!
The webinars will be done on every other wednesday, we will record them in case you can’t attend but watching them live is much more fun and you will be able to ask question to the presenter. Time is always a challenge with Servoy customers being all around the world so we have tried to pick a time that sort of works in most places:
5 PM - Amsterdam, 11 AM New York, 8 AM Los Angeles
Great news Jan: looking forward to viewing the series when I return to base. I am leaving for a walking pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela this weekend, and will be away walking through northern Spain till December.
Grateful if you would post the location of the recorded series in this thread in due course.
We are excited to invite you to join us for this webinar, announcing a new, open-source web component SideNav. Offering great UX for navigation and other purposes, this simple but dynamic menu component is easy to use, but fully extensible. And as always, it ships with comprehensive documentation and a sample solution.
Please join us for this 30-minute technical webinar and learn how to incorporate menu-driven user experiences into your web applications
Thanks to all who attended the Tech Webinar Series #2.
Today’s topic was Web Component Update
Don’t worry if you missed it, my colleague Jan will post the recording shortly.
If you are eager to get started with the components, below are some useful links.
If you have feedback on this webinar or ideas for topics, please reply to this post or email sdevlin@servoy.com.
If you have enhancements or bugs for specific components, please file those on the corresponding GitHub repository.
* Note: Some Components in the Servoy-Extra web package are compatible only with 8.1.1 RC. If you are on a lower version of Servoy, you can still install the components manually using the Servoy-Extra.zip binaries. Right-click the WebPackages node and select “add zip as web package”. Do note that w/o 8.1.1, the Table Component will not function properly. If you run 8.1.1 of Servoy, then this package will be available via Web Packages Manager as normal.
I am delighted that Servoy is once again providing technical presentations for developers. These new presentations are short, concise, and informative. Kudos to Jan and Sean!
Having attended all three Servoy developer webinars so far, I can assure you that the topics are relevant, and presented at a very good and helpful level.
On future topics, would you please consider highlighting the exploratory work reported at Servoy Camp earlier this year on working alongside Office 365. I have a particular interest in extracting information from Word documents to fields in a form, where an user’s expert eye is needed to locate the relevant info. I realise the demo at Servoy Camp was very much work in progress.
Sean, Jan, I just wanted to say thank you for putting this series together. This is exactly the kind of information the developer community needs. The topics are very helpful and Sean is a fantastic presenter - it’s rare to see such polished presentation and technical skills in the same person.

Looking forward to more of these.
Thanks! Also keep sending in topics for new sessions to keep this series going! We have started to schedule new sessions for next year!
Fantastic and informative series of webinars that really give a developer good for thought.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend the webinar on the 21st Dec so do you know when this will be posted on the YouTube channel (been waiting eagerly for it but no sign yet )?
Tomorrow number five in our highly popular tech webinar series: 30 minutes with Servoy.
In tomorrow’s session we are going to talk about saving data.
Webinar #5 Best Practices - Saving Data
Servoy provides data binding in the UI and powerful APIs for working with databases.
However, it takes a little bit of know-how to combine these ingredients to ensure data integrity as well as a positive user experience.
