AjaxWord: Open Source Web Word Processor

Can AjaxWord be integrated with Webclient? Have any Servoy developers successfully installed AjaxWord on a server? It looks like you just drop the contents of the WAR file into the Tomcat root folder. I notice there is a users.mdb file in the WEB-INF folder. Can this somehow be replaced with a Sybase database?

Anyone can try AjaxWord at:

Then click AjaxWord over on the right side of the page.

Noticed it doesn’t run under Firefox on a Mac. In fact the error message try on a Windows machine. That means for us it isn’t ‘really’ web ready, in that it doesn’t run cross-platform.

Hi Gary,

Good point. In our particular situation 99% of the vertical market we serve is on Windows, so we thought this might offer some interesting possibilites.

Apparently Buzzword is cross platform. They state:

It works very well in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.

I believe Virtual Ubiquity is a Boston based company that was purchased by Adobe. They are using Flex technology, so I am not sure if integration with other solutions and databases will be possible.
