Can not find the repository server... again.

OK,
Installed Servoy 2.1 Final in a new directory (/Applications/Servoy),
Restarted my Mac (OSX.3.5),
Started Servoy (after restart),
Opened the crm-solution and navigated through the solution.
Resarted my Mac again,
Started Servoy (after restart) again,
Message: Can not find the repository server… etc.

This happens every time, again and again and again :x

Bert, when you installed 2.1 (again) did you, before reinstalling it, stop Sybase. From what I know you want to do a clean install so you do need to stop Syabase in that case before installing. If you didn’t do that you new Servoy installation ‘hooked’ into you old repository as far as I know…

I know, but Sybase (dbsrv9) wasn’t running.
I did a clean install last night and for some reason it worked :?

  • restarted my Mac and opened Servoy’s CRM serveral times and it worked like it should be.
  • imported a modified version of Servoy’s CRM, activated it, but before opening it I closed Servoy and restarted (stops Sybase) my Mac.
  • opened Servoy’s CRM (modified version) serveral times, serveral restarts included and everythings worked :D … but still very confused :?

This morning started my Mac and Servoy… :D
Guess what… can not find the repository etc. etc.

Having no problems with other software.
Suggestions…?

Update: probably not to mention but Sybase (dbsrv9) didn’t run (in my ActivityControll) when Servoy couldn’t connect to the repository.

Seems Servoy iAnywhere has some problems starting on several platforms. I am still not able to use Servoy on SuSE because I can’t get iAnywhere to start.
See my previous post
Maybe have to move the repository to PostgreSQL for the time being. :(

So far it works flawless on Mac OS X (10.3.5 + Java 1.42 update1) and Windows XP Proff. (+SP2) for me.

Just guessing…
Is there a possibility Servoy doesn’t start Sybase and that’s why it can not find the repository :?

Bert, what do you see happening in your Console application (located in your applications folder) when you start up Servoy?

Here it is but I haven’t restarted my Mac yet…

Starting Servoy from /Users/atbert/Apps/Servoy

Servoy R2 2.1 build-310 on Mac OS X using Java 1.4.2_05

Looking for servoy.properties on /Users/atbert/servoy.properties

Loading servoy.properties from /Users/atbert/Apps/Servoy/servoy.properties

Loading - Done

Using RMI registry on port 1099

Starting service Tomcat-Standalone

Apache Tomcat/4.0.1

Starting service Tomcat-Apache

Apache Tomcat/4.0.1

See the new console.log in the next message after restart…

Here is the info from the console.log after both restart and a shut down/start-up.

Amazingly Servoy’s CRM example I modified starts up with no problems.
I just can’t figure out why it works now (yesterday it didn’t).
What wil tomorrow bring :?
