developer going nuts

My developer is going nuts. I can’t edit any form or js whatever solution I open.
The only thing which changed since last usage is the java update 1.6.18.
I had delayed this update since I heard of pbs, but it seems that there still are. And my java setup does not keep former versions…
Anyone having this problem also?
env= vista + java 1.6.18 + servoy 5.1

I am using the same java version with 5.1 on windows7, no problem

Regards,

We are using Java 1.6.0_18 with Servoy 5.1 on Vista SP2 with no problems. We also have it running on Windows 7 with no problems.

Good luck!

Try to clear your java cache and .servoy directory

Regards

Hans Nieuwenhuis:
Try to clear your java cache and .servoy directory

that wont help much i think because he is talking about the developer

i am using 6_u18 already for quite some time and i dont have any problems

What does the error log say? (servoy error log and the eclipse error log)

java cache already deleted, cleaned .servoy > worst, crashes on any attempt to use it…
I am afraid i’ll have to re-install…

Hi,
Java updates are a bit of a problem with Servoy, sometimes.
r18 has caused me the most headaches.
As well as clearing out the Java Caches, you should also delete the ‘.servoy’ directory AND also try and get rid of the ‘Sun’ directory
users/Documents/AppData (may be /AddData/LocalLow)
ALSO, you may need to replace a plugin, see this link
http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13625&p=70765#p70765
and
http://forum.servoy.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13573

You may also want to try and delete ALL installed versions of Java (some old ones didn’t get removed when you updated) and then install just the latest r18
This fixed all issues for me.

I have just suggested to my clients that they make sure (if Windows/PC based) every user and Servoy Server are all on latest release, then TURN OFF AUTO UPDATE CHECKING!!!

Hope this helps,
Rafi

but this is all for clients, this thread is above the developer.

There we just need to 2 logs to see what is really happening there.
