Duplicate form & History Back issue in 3.5.5...

Hi,
I keep on having this problem, so I think it’s a bug, but thought I’d better check on forum first.

If I am in Designer mode and Duplicate a Form (on File menu), Save & then try and use the ‘Back’ button to go to the original form (e.g. to check what methods etc. might be set) it doesn’t work.
If I switch out of Designer mode (browse?) & then back into Designer and then click ‘Back’ button, as expected it takes me to the original form.

I’m pretty sure this worked fine in 2.2.7…

Servoy Developer
Version 3.5.5-build 518
Java version 1.5.0_13-119 (Mac OS X)

Thanks,

Rafi

back button in the designer is a little bit strange, servoy 4.0 wont have that anyway anymore (there you use short cut keys like CTRL-E or CTRL-F6)

but you can report an issue if you want.

When is this going to be finally fixed? This still exists in 3.5.10.

It’s a little more complicated than described above and going in and out of Designer definitely doesn’t fix the issue.

You have to actually quit servoy in order to prevent one from accidentally re-designing the original form and not the duplicate…

which one does anyway as you stubbornly try the workaround in hopes that it will actually work.

it’s indeed very annyoing.

after a duplicate form,

  • the history back & forward, is working very strange!
If you go manually to the window, of the parent form (the one you have duplicated)
than almost all methods are not attached anymore to onShow onLoad etc… onAction of buttons etc…

what I always do, after a form duplicate, I go out of design-mode, and restart developer.
Only THAN I’m 100% sure everything works oke, again.

(I did’nt had the time yet to file a issue for this)

Thanks for the further detail on this Harjo.

What you described is exactly what I am experiencing as well.

did you file a issue allready, for this? (it has no high priority for me anymore, because we have switched over to 4.1.4)

and there we have such NICE duplicate functions, that work ;-)

Harjo! yes! Finally! :)

Somebody should make a case for this yes so that we can look at it.

I knew, that I could expect such reaction from Johan!

hmm i do think harjo is still running a bit behind with using 4! Tano!

But harjo is getting there…

easy, easy, Johan!!

we are testing tano, once a week…
going te develop in it, as soon as it released final, so hurry up!
