Jasper report scriptlet issues

Hi there,

I have created a scriptlet class for one of my jasper reports.

I have many methods in the scriptlet class.
For ex in my contact report I call the method as follows: $P{REPORT_SCRIPTLET}.getPrintLabelAddressHomeOrWork()

When I run the method from the iReport it works like charm.
The problem occurs only when I run the report from Servoy developer.

Actually I have moved my scriptlet jar file to the lib folder of iReport.
I have done the same thing for Servoy as well. I have moved my scriptlet jar file to the servoy/lib folder.

This is the error from servoy

Please help since I need to fix this very URGENTLY.

I tried to reach the JRDefaultScriptlet class from servoy using the following code and it seems I can reach it. So it means the class is accessible from servoy:

var scriptlet = Packages.net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRDefaultScriptlet();
application.output(scriptlet);

The output is

net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRDefaultScriptlet@16fd92a

I have created a test class file as follows:

package com.pilot.jasperreport.hkics_amelia;
import net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRDefaultScriptlet;
public class test extends JRDefaultScriptlet {

    public test() {
    }

    public String hello() {
        return new String("Faheem");
    }
}

The following code outputs “Faheem” if I do not extend JRDefaultScriptlet in the test class above.

var test1 = Packages.com.pilot.jasperreport.hkics_amelia.test();
application.output(test1.hello());

If I extend JRDefaultScriptlet in the test class the line 2
application.output(test1.hello())
does not even run. Servoy does not execute the line and I do not get any error message as well. Also there are no log entries created the in the servoy log.

If you open your report (the .jrxml file) in a text editor, do you see the scriptletClass attribute set to your qualified class name?

I believe when you do set the scriptlet class in iReport, it doesn’t actually modify the jasper report file, instead it just sets up the iReport enviroment to work with the scriptlet class.

So, the jasperReport element should look something like below where you set your scriptletClass attribute.

		 printOrder="Vertical"
		 orientation="Portrait"

		 pageHeight="842"
		 columnWidth="535"

Problem solved.
I have moved the scriptlets back to /plugins/jasperPluginRMI folder from /lib folder. I have not done any changes to my scriptlets & jrxml files.

I am not sure why I have got the errors when the scriptlets are in the /lib folder.
I guess the /lib folder must be in the Servoy’s classpath.
