Login Delay

Hi All,

My login operation is taking too much time . It is taking around 70 secs . More than one minute . But when I am trying to see the sql queries which are executing in the performance page of the servoy admin page . It is showing very less amount of time . Which is not even close to 70 seconds . It may be showing 4 - 5 secs . I am also not doing any pre load of forms or records operation . Can I get some informations , why it is taking so much time. How can I optimize it ?

Thanks in advance . Waiting for your feedback.

Hi All,

I am using servoy 5.2.11 . And database is postgresql.

Hi,

Can you be more specific? What does this ‘login operation’ do ?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply . This is just the login of the solution . The time duration between the login button clicked and first form viewed. Actually I was going through some old forum posts . They are talking about some troubling index “ep_rev” . Does this needs to be removed ?. This is not happening in the local developer but ocurring in the production server.

Thanks in advance . Waiting for your feedback.

Hi,

This is a custom login or are you using Servoy’s security ?
Are you loading a lot of forms (tabpanels) and/or data in this first form ?
Also is the solution fast once it all has been loaded or is it always slow?

As for a troubling index. Since you say you don’t see a real slow query (I assume the 4-5 secs is all queries done in total, not 1 single query) in the statistics page then I don’t think this is the issue. But you can always reindex to make sure the index is not corrupt.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply . I am using servoy’s security
No I am not loading a lot of forms or data in this first form.
Actually my production server is running in amazon server. It is slow to some extent . But login taking 70 seconds is quite a long delay.

Yes that is the strange thing. If it is taking around 70 seconds then how the performance page show very less time (4 - 5 sec) in total ?.

Thanks in advance . Waiting for your feedback.

Hi,

The overall performance is more then just the query times to the database. There is also network latency (the time it takes to get a packet from your machine to the server and back) that plays a role.
What are your ping times to the server?

Also is this web or smart client ?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply . When I am pinging the amazon server it is giving request timed out . I guess the amazon server cannot give the ping data if I am not wrong.

Thanks in advance . Waiting for you feed back.

Hi Robert,

This is smart client.

It’s difficult to help you without seeing the code you are running on login, can you paste your code?
