MIME-type of image plugin

Hi,

I use the image-plugin to determine the MIME-type of a file.

if I select an EXCEL file (xls) it says: program/msword

Is this something that can be updated?? because we attach an icon at every file-type.

Hi Harjo,

I realize this is not what you want to hear but can’t you just take the type from the extension (in this case). When the extension is .xls you know the type or do I miss something here?

I am not sure this is something Servoy can solve. Might be a Java thing but that’s really just guessing…

Alle MS Office things have the same magic bytes (the first bytes of the file) and that is what we look at in the image plugin file type guesser.

oke, than a description: program/msoffice
would be better I think.

no because that mime type doesn’t exists
you can’t do anything with that.
We are serving known mime types.
