Newby question: deploying for iOS - do I need a Mac

Hello to all,

We are looking into the possibility of Servoy as an now development platform.

One question is: we use Windows (XP/7/etc) Machines to develop out current software.
When moving to Servoy, we still would like to develop (compile/debug/etc) our applications on the Windows Machine.

Is this possible with Servoy?

I understand to realy test the applications, we should have an actual device at hand, but when compiling/testing new code, we still would like to develop from a Windows PC without the need of a Mac and/or iOS device.

I expect this is also possible for Android deployment/testing!

Yes, you can develop, debug, etc your applications on the Windows Machine.

Now, if you want to test your solution in a Mac, you’ll need to install Servoy developer in the Mac computer.

You also can deploy your solution in a test-machine that can act a server (I use an old dell XP machine for this). Then you can see how the solution will look/work from anywhere. If you are develop web client solutions (web browsers app), you can check how they would look from any devise using this website: http://www.responsinator.com/

Good luck and welcome to Servoy,
Carlos.

you don’t need to install a developer on the mac, you only need that if you want to debug really a smart client on the mac
Webclients can be developed and debugged on windows when running the browser on an ios device.
