I hate to edit posts but sometimes it is the only way to calm down the Mac-folks To be clear: - Servoy Smart and Web Client run perfectly fine on Mac and Windows - Servoy Debug client (the smart client launched from Eclipse) sometimes shows up blank. This is most probably a bug in Apple’s Java or maybe somewhere in the Eclipse internals. It does not affect your code. Servoy
Dear Servoy Gurus - following the recent posts and comments on the challenges of the Client display showing ‘blank’ on recent MAC’s (Snow Leopard 64 bit in my instance) we desperately need some feedback from you.
Some comments have suggested that Servoy may not be able to fix this issue, and that would be a complete disaster for us having pitched our systems as cross platform (some of our clients are going MAC at least for their mobile equipment but retaining Win Servers and TS systems for desktop).
Please clarify the situation and indicate if you consider it safe to
a. continue to develop on MAC and
b. promote our solutions as being cross platform deployment.
I recognise that you probably have some cases open in the support system for this problem - and you’ll likely be checking into it now, but some early feedback on likely outcomes would be appreciated ASAP.
My hoped for response is - it’s fixable and we’re working on it! Please enlighten us - fingers firmly crossed here!

Wait a minute. Are you seeing this issue with Clients running from Servoy Server too?
So far I have only seen this in Debug Client in Developer.

No I haven’t Robert (seen it on a server) - we’ve not yet deployed it and only just put our test server up yesterday. Are you suggesting its fine on the server?
That’s the problem, some clarity on the issue is really necessary quickly!
Jan Aleman:
Sigh. Why do people not read threads and start new ones with panic?
Jan- please don’t confuse concern and a sense of urgency with panic - they are not the same and certainly not panic in this instance.
Your edit of my initial post is most welcome - and it is good to hear that you are doing something to (hopefully) fix it - even if it is a dialogue with Apple / Java.
I think you’ll understand our sense of urgency when you realise that some of us are hanging on the Developer (and not just the Server) to support MAC. If I’ve missed a post where you guys said you had the situation in hand - forgive me - I don’t think I did?
Just for clarity is it a case of - Apple either fix it or it wont work into the future - or do you have some other tools to deal with the failure of Servoy Debug Client to function properly on the MAC?
