portals vs tab panels

It seems that HJK is the portal master :)

After reading all of the feedback on portals, I noticed that I haven’t used a portal yet in Servoy. I use tab panels for everything – in one case, stacked four deep.

It seems to me that a portal and tabless tab panel do basically the same thing. I like tab panels because they have a lot of flexibility. I can’t think of any reason to use a portal instead of a tab panel. Am I missing something here or is it just a matter of personal preference which to use?

If you use tab-panels on print-forms, they dont have the grow function (to another page) we use a lot of portals on printforms.
For the rest, you are right, tabpanels do the same and are much more flexible.
