servoy newbie here- portal question

i wouldn’t have come here without checking the manual first, but I did not find anything there. simple question, how do you place a button in a portal? I’m looking for a ‘delete’ button, and an ‘edit’ button to put on every record in the portal, but the button doesn’t seem to be repeating.

With all objects you want to put on your portal you have to select the portal first and then select the object…

Since I use tabs mostly this is also new to me…
This is how I tried to add a button to a portal.

  1. place a portal
  2. select button icon and make it an element by giving it a name.
  3. drag button in the portal

This does’nt work, what are the right steps to do it?

  2. select the portal (give it focus);
  3. select a button and the button belongs to the portal…
