solution import dosen't

I run Servoy server side by side with Servoy Developer. Two Identical iMacs. My normal work cycle is make changes on Dev iMac then Export soln to file folder. Then I copy folder to Server iMac and goto web admin page and login and then I do Import of solution AND reboot server. This has ALWAYS worked except for today. I added a custom login form and got it working. I exported, copied, and imported as usual. The custom form is not there when I try it from the remote iMac. I know I have CAREFULLY gone thru all these steps several times. I cannot get the two machines back in sync. What in the world am I doing wrong?

I stopped the server and ran developer on the SERVER iMac. I deleted the solution from servoy developer and from the web admin page. I restarted the developer and imported thru the web admin page then I restarted the computer (server autostarts on boot). Now it’s back to normal.

So, my question becomes…

“How may I prevent this in the future?” Should I ALWAYS delete the solution before import? I never had to before?

Thanks,
Charles

Do you mean you were still getting the old version after import and restart ? Was the correct release activated ? Is this smart client ?

It might sound like a stupid question but do you actually commit your changes on the dev machine before creating an export?

Ivostinar: yes, the old version. I imported by web admin and the version number was incremented. Yes, smart client running from server.

it2be: No, it’s not a stupid question, as I am the only developer I have never yet used commit. I never had to before. I also don’t have a clear understanding of the proper way to develop on a server machine that is not the server machine host. I have used Checkout after installing Servoy to see the example files and Activate to switch between different solutions in the developer machine. I have totally ignored the “Team” stuff, as I am the only developer on staff. I read that sharing and unsharing can cause problems. I have frankly been afraid to ‘play’ with features such as share, restore from local history, sync with DB server, reload tables, (i can’t even find commit, possibly because i did not share?), ect… any advice is greatly appreciated.

you can try to flush the solution from admin page if this happens again
