We have developed a servoy solution which would be accessed from different countries. For this we have installed the solution in a data center in US. The solution is accessed using normal broadband connection. Our customer is not very satisfied with the speed. It takes like 5 seconds for a search.
Is there any other solution to increase the speed? The speed is alright when accessed from local intranet.
We have solutions hosted with Direct ICT at a Dutch data-centre and they are being accessed from US, Sth America & Asia. Once the initial screen loading is over the response times on Servoy Client are amazingly good - generally <2secs even with 10,000’s records.
Suggest you use Servoy Admin to check DBperformance to ensure that you don’t have any slow searches in your solution - some tables might need indexes. Next step would be to get them to run some of the Broadband speed checks to see what actual upload/download speeds are at the Client computer and check latency. Worth trying several tests as results do vary. I also think that increasing servoy.maxClientHeap: from 64MB to 128MB helps - but not sure if this correct.
Thanks for your advise. I will check to see if I can optimize the database indexes. I will also check the broadband and see if the servoy.maxClientHeap really helps.
We have like Graham already told servers in a dutch data centre which are very quick in responding en datatransfer from worldwide countries. If you are interested you can always contact Harjo (Well known on this forum as HJK). You can always test another configuration… It’s the customers satisfaction that counts!
