Strange license issue

Hi,

When is start a developer or smart client localy on my server they both run fine.

When I start a smart client from another pc (connecting to that server)
I get a license error : " No license left or trial license"

When i look at the admin page ( bot localy on the server and from the pc) I see in the license page that
there are licenses available.

Any suggestions ??

I found the cause of the problem.

I had a loopback adaptor installed on my laptop. (10.10.10.10) .
This is a standard way of installing Oracle on a pc that uses dhcp.

But this loopback adaptor causes the error. If i disable it, the problem is gone.

B.t.w. The error only occurs when starting the servoy server as a service.
When starting it in a dosbox on the server, there is no issue even if the loopback adaptor on my laptop is active.

Hmm, cool that you found this problem, I had it also once in the past! but never thought at the loopback adaptor!

Maybe Servoy could look into this problem…

If Servoy looks into to this, there are two cases they have to look into to :

  1. loopback adaptor on client ( problem described previously in this thread)

  2. loopback adaptor on server.
    This gives antother problem.
    I you have a loopback adaptor on the server, you can start a smart client on another
    pc (connecting to the server), but it will never show you the availbale solutions.
    You can only exit the smartclient again.

I am also having this issue. We have plenty of license, but when users connect, it will not let them connect saying no license available.

there is a difference!
if ALL clients do have this, you have to check if RMI port is open in firewall, or Network settings in Java has to be on direct connect.

(in our case we are talking about some clients)

It is random and not always the same user or client.
