Switching to Java 1.5 on Mac OS X with Servoy

Servoy Developer
Version R2 2.2-build 328
Java version 1.4.2-50 (Mac OS X 10.4.2)

This is a massive improvement in opening time to get from cold to ‘Select Solution’ dialogue !
1m 25s down to > 32s

So - big piece of pi(e) coming from this direction too !!

BUT … I have to ask:

‘What’s the catch ?’

What impact is there on NOT doing the other things which were in the original ‘plist’ file and which seem to have been removed to make this such a quick process now ??

Cheers
Harry

Hi Jan,

Also following up on Harry’s post how does one set more memory in the new plist?

P.S. I’m glad your (precise) calculation for the time difference matched mine!

It looks like the classpath settings were causing it. I don’t know why that whole list of classpath settings was there in the first place. You can safely put the memory setting back in (or hack your old plist and remove just all the classpaths in it except the one to servoy_developer.jar)
