If I close Servoy, I need to remember to right-click the “SQL” icon in my system tray and close that, too. If I don’t, and I open Servoy with the “SQL” still showing, I get an error that the repository can’t be found.
Could this be an issue with how I’m set up? I have my ‘workaround’, but I wonder if this behavior is symptomatic of some configuration problem that might produce other strangeness.
that SQL symbol just shows that sybase is running. And you shouldn’t have to close sybase every time you shutdown the developer. I have sybase open all the time.
Then servoy should be able to connect to it again. I currently have no idea why the developer can’t connect to it again. If it can connect to it once it should be able to connect to it again.
i have asked around and i do hear that his happens more on Win2K machines. No answer yet which part is the fault. But if you install another database (firebird or mysql) and use that as repository and then it works ok. Then the blaim goes to sybase..
It’s not a terrible thing to have to remember to shut down the database when I shut down Servoy. At least I’m a bit more confident now that it’s probably not a symptom of a bad setup.
