I’ve got a couple iMacs at a client which are on Leopard (the only machines on Leopard at this client) which have really difficult display problems that I’ve narrowed down to a bug in their Themes. Basically, on both Windows and Tiger Mac (iMac or otherwise) everything looks fine. But on these iMacs the buttons and other aqua interface items are all too short (Cancel becomes Can…) and many other problems. I go to the client’s App Preferences to check on Look and Feel, and the menus in that window are pretty nonfunctional. I’ve attached a screen shot. I managed to get Kunstoff selected, which fixed everything, even though default and MacOS X look and feels work fine on non Leopard/iMacs on the network – so i know its not my design). But it was tricky, the menu is gone. See the attached. That blank in the middle of the window is the menu selected. I can’t choose anything on it. The Tiger machines and Leopard machines are BOTH on the same screen resolution, default font size, and loading the same Servoy smart client version/app. Help?
Hi Ellen,
What Servoy version is this with and what Java version do the clients use ?
They’re on Servoy 3.5.7. Java is pretty much completely handled by Apple on macs, so Leopard sets up some defaults. These are brand new machines coming from Apple, and here’s what the java prefs show (attached pic). BTW, though it looks convoluted, it the same as my mac, which is Leopard and works just fine:
Update to the latest available Java 6 from Apple and drag it to the top of the list, most of the issues have been fixed for the ones remaining, I’m sorry to tell you, but you will have to wait for Apple to fix them and that won’t take a short time…
