I received a message saying that a newer version may be available, and clicked “ok” to check. Now, whenever I open developer, I get an error message saying that " cannot connect to the repository specified in the application preferences".
How can I correct this?

What’s in the logs…
the logs have lot’s of stuff in them… “error starting java.net.bindexeception” … lot’s more. what would I be looking for exactly? Thanks (ps… I"m very new to this)
Sounds like you have the old one still running.
Make sure everything is stopped and start developer again.
If the problem persists, it may help if you post a log excerpt with a java stack trace.
