Cannot open main solution in developer or client

Hi, please help

have just lost the ability to open our main solution (about 12 months work) it wont open in developer or client

not sure if i can open a previous release, trying that now… that way ill only loose about 2 months work :?

theres only 2 major things i changed either of which i think may have caused this…

  1. I changed the start page of the solution in the solution settings.
  2. I added a module to the module list in the solution settings.

do you have any idea which one of these might be stoping the solution opening and can i edit the solutions settings somewhere directly in the database without opening it and change these settings back to what they were before when the solution would open ok??

Did you remove the module from the repository after you added it to your solution ?
If so then you need to re-import it because the solution links to it.

the module is still there.. i read the guides on modules carefully about 5 times before starting to use them…

i cant think of anything obvious that ive done like that

What is the exact error message you get when you try to open the solution?

Found the problem :D :D

what did not make it easy was the fact that i was not getting any error message. When i tried to open the solution in developer it would just take forever and not open…

The problem was in one of the modules i had added to the solution, had a relationship that i had forgotten to name properly by prefixing the relationship eg “mod_admin_customers”

relationship name already existed in the main solution. i went through modules found the offending relationship, renamed it and bingo!!

my main solution will now open again… thank god!!

it would certainly help to get an error message in this situation as it is a simple thing to set straight.

when i try and open it in developer there is no error message it

i take it back, it wont open again :?
it opened once and i thought id sorted the problem
ive just left developer for 90 minutes trying to open the solution but it still says “Loading Solution”
is there anyway of getting servoy to give some kind of feedback or error message as to what the problem is?
