I am a brand new user to SERVOY. I have a client who wants to migrate over 100+ files to Servoy. What’s a good way to start? Any online documentation or samples? How easy or difficult is it going to be?
Welcome to servoy forum,
There are lots of resources talking of migration from FileMakerPro, try this one first:
http://developer.servoy.com/docs/getting_started_for_fmp_dev.pdf
Introduction to Servoy for Filemaker Pro developers (pdf)
This document gives you an overview of the Servoy concepts, how they compare to Filemaker Pro and also contains an hands-on section.
by Bob Cusick and Maarten Berkenbosch
You can then make a search in the forum, as they are lots of thread about this subject, and then have a look at servoy magazine.
As my personnal opinion rejoins those exprimed in the forum, I urge you to consult them, btw, Servoy rocks!
Hi bskhosla
Welcome to Servoy - some big questions in that short post
I would suggest you start at the Servoy Magazine and in particular a new article which covers many of the ‘gotcha’s’ that caught me when I started using Servoy.
http://servoymagazine.typepad.com/home/ … at_ab.html
You could then look at the sample CRM solution - it’s completely unlocked so you can see how the relationships, forms and methods work together.
Then build a simple solution for yourself BUT when you are doing this you will have to banish the word ‘workaround’ from your thought processes. In Servoy there is almost always a very simple, straightforward way to handle a function that you have been used to concocting from multiple globals/relationships etc etc.
The documentation now is pretty extensive and this Forum is a tremendous resource. Do come back with any specific questions.

Hi,
Watch and download FileMaker To Servoy - A Step-By-Step Guide at the site off Bob Cusick.
Hi Bert
Of course - how could I have forgotten Bob’s masterpiece!!
My copy is so dog-eared from use and notes that I’ll probably have to print it again.
