For those who may leverage the Servoy/iAnywhere relationship, or who may wish to know more about the iAnywhere product line, there are occasional webcast presentations offered, as well as there being a list of recorded past presentaitons that can be watched on their site.
Here’s an upcoming one that looks interesting:
===================
There’s still time to register for the Building Database Applications with Remote Support in Mind Developer Viewpoint Webcast.
When: Thursday, July 28, 2005
Time: 2-3 pm ET
While the challenges of designing a software package are understood, the effort of providing remote support for the deployed application is often underestimated. Careful planning and preparation prior to installing the application can significantly reduce remote support headaches.
iAnywhere is proud to present a “for developers, by developers” Webcast led by Paul Horan, Senior Architect, Video Communications, Inc. This session will provide details and lessons learned from the development of an embedded software application deployed at more than 100 television stations and cable networks, many with no full-time IT staff.
Mr. Horan will discuss VCI’s selection of SQL Anywhere as an easy to use, low administration embedded database, and will offer valuable advice from years of hands-on experience, covering key areas including:
- Preparing the client site in order to gain access to remote machines
- Automating routine administration and maintenance tasks
- Diagnosing problems in a production database remotely
- Retrieving a copy of the database for analysis in the lab
Mr. Horan will be available to answer online chat questions, and will offer an audio Q&A at the end of the session.
