Hello,
I tried to install the SQLExplorer in a brand new Servoy 5.1 installation on:
Windows 7 Pro 32bit
Java 1.6_18
The installation failed because “‘Install’ has encountered a problem.”!? Please have a look on the attached error dialog.
I could make a successful install of the SQLExplorer on other Windows 7 Pro 64bit and Mac OS X 10.6.2 machines. On both I cannot find the plugin in the Servoy installation direction what is displayed in the error dialog.
Btw, in the Install/Update Preferences of the Servoy Developer on the Win 7 32bit system, I cannot find any entry in the Available Software Sites list. Ok, I have added the location links manually, but now the installation/update won’t finish successful.
did you by accident try to update your servoy/eclipse itself?
Somehow your profile is corrupted and then eclipse wont let you install stuff.
But if you do another clean install, and then you do help->install new software and select the sql explorer url and only install that.
does it then work on that machine?

No it doesn’t! Today I made two clean Servoy 5.1 installs and every time I don’t have the update links in the Available Software Site list in Preferences. I always have to add them manually.
i just took the installer of 5.1 on a XP vm with an upgraded to 6_18 (32bit)
and there i installed it in c:\servoy510 dir
then when i start it up and go to the install new software i did get the 3 entries where one was the sql explorer one
and then i could install it just fine and after a restart it was there.
i see that you install servoy in c:\program files
dont do that install it in another directory then that just a user dir as long as it is completely different then the standard windows dirs.
i have tested it a bit for me again (but win7 64bit), but didnt servoy installation wizard not tell it to install it into c:\servoy?
For me it will give that dir as the default install dir and not program files.
you are right, but I have manually changed the install dir into program files in my previous installations.
On Win XP and Mac OS X Servoy is working well from the program files/application folder. It has no deeper sense for me to take a differnt install dir as given by default… it’s maybe only my organization style.
