Hi, Tom! It’s good to know that someone has SQL Explorer working in 7.3.1.
Unfortunately, in my situation, I do not believe SQL Explorer is installed whatsoever. If I go to:
Help → Install New Software…
and click on the ‘What is already installed?’ link and view the 'Installed Software tab, only Servoy Developer is listed. If I go to:
Windows → Open Perspective → Other
SQL Explorer is not listed as a perspective.
In Solution Explorer with a database selected, right-clicking on a table does not list SQL Explorer as an option. Plus, the ‘Edit table/view’ does not show the SQL Explorer ‘Data’ tab.
I have tried (several times) reloading both SQL Explorer as well as Servoy Developer. I will try installing SQL Explorer again when 7.4 is released. In the meantime, I am relegated to using the database admin tool which works but is not as handy.
Hi Kim,
Not sure if this is relevant to your case or not:
I had a 32bit Java installed on my machine, then installed the Servoy 7.3.1. I later uninstalled the Java 32 bit and the Servoy followed by installing a 64 bit Java and re-installing the Servoy 7.3.1
the SQL Explorer perspective appeared then.
According the site: http://eclipsesql.sourceforge.net/
The SQL Explorer Eclipse plugin instructions indicates to start Eclipse with the -clean option if obtaining it from their download site. I am not sure if that is possible with the Servoy bundled Eclipse or not. But you could try if you are brave!
We have SQL Explorer installed in Servoy 7.3.1 on OS X 10.8.5. The only glitch I had was that when entering SQLExplorer in the Install New Software > Work with field I get two versions, namely 3.6.1v20120708_SR6 and 3.6.1v20120413_SR5_P1, where I only can install the 3.6.1v20120708_SR6 version. Which of course is ok for me, as it is the latest one. Otherwise it works as usual.
