I’m looking for a word/excel plugin that allows me to create/edit a word/excel file.
At now the customer receive a word/excel partially compiled and, at now, he has to fill it manually.
I would use a word/excel file (compatible with office2007 or last) that allows me to manage this file by adding the missing informations.
I’ve checked the plugin’s list and I’ve found something similar on the it2be website, but I see that (seems) it’s not compatible with an “.docx” for example and works only
with Word format and before deciding if I can accept this project I have to be sure that an Excel plugin also exist.
I’ll follow your suggestion.
By searching something on Google, I’ve found APACHE POI libraries, but I’ve read on a lot of forums that it’s more powerful but needs an huge amount of code
to work properly.
POI along with iText have big memory footprints, but if you’re concerned about that you could delegate some process to a separate service running server side.
If you are thinking of using it directly inline in Servoy forget it though, you will have to write a plugin to use it right.

With the Word Plug-in you can read, write and edit many formats like docx etc.
You can even write (not edit or read) a pdf directly from the Plug-in.
The list of supported formats is much longer than on our site.

We have an excel plugin as well to read, write and edit excel sheets.
It supports many formats and, as with the Word Plug-in you can also create (not edit or read) a pdf with it.
The best thing you can do is ask for a trial license through our Component Manager (http://www.servoycomponents.com/downloads.html don’t forget to download the manual as well) or our support site (when using the support site please add your full credentials and the components you want to trial)
