Mac OS X 10.3.9 issues

Be careful updating to OS X 10.3.9, cause Java appications don’t run after installing 10.3.9!! I tried to install Java 1.4.2 update 2 again, but that didn’t help either… :(

Any solution tips are welcome!

[updated: changed original subject from panick level to normal]

Interesting. We have 10.3.9 running on various machines ranging from powermacs to powerbooks and ibooks without any problems. Can you be a bit more specific about your problem?

  • Language of os?
  • do applications crash or not run at all?
  • do you get additional output in the console with errors?
  • are you experiecing this on just one machine or on multiple?
  • what happens after a clean install?
  • what doesnt work anymore: all java apps? just developer? just client?

NOTE: YES it is a good idea to have a test environment where you install new operating systems before taking them in production. Not only with mac but also with windows

Problem was that all Java apps didn’t work anymore, but fixed it by manually downloading and installing the OS X 10.3.9 update again…

… and yes, some panick did occur after being in the middle of some projects without being able to start SERVOY !! :(

What’s the world these days without Servoy ?

Open a terminal and try this

sudo update_prebinding -root / -force

Apple changed some path…

or let Apple do it and go here:
